Youth Dialogue on Grassroots Issues and Social Responsibility – Anamaduwa

On January 28, the Anamaduwa Youth Team led an impactful dialogue with government officers, spotlighting critical village-level issues that threaten social cohesion in rural Sri Lanka. This space allowed young people to express real-life concerns directly to state actors and advocate for a more just and inclusive society.
The focus areas included:
Breakdown in social unity due to marginalization
Communication gaps between communities and institutions
Importance of youth in rebuilding local trust, dialogue, and peace

Key Message & Community Reflection
“විවිධත්වයේ ශක්තිය – Diversity is Our Strength”
Social cohesion grows naturally in a society rooted in peace, justice, empathy, and mutual respect — where economic, political, and cultural rights are shared fairly across all communities, regardless of ethnicity, religion, caste, or status.
This generation of youth from Anamaduwa recognizes their responsibility to uphold and protect that vision.
We express our sincere appreciation to Rev. Kudawawe Vijithananda Thero of Anandarama Temple, who extended spiritual and physical support by offering the temple premises for the event. His contribution provided the strength and space for the youth to rise with clarity and courage.
