International Day of Solidarity Against Transnational Corporations – April 24, 2025

On April 24, 2024, Janawaboda Kendraya, together with World March of Women and Women Centre, marked the International Day of Solidarity Against Transnational Corporations in Katunayake, Averywatte, under the global theme:
“Feminist Resistance Against Corporate Power – Life Over Profit, Peace Over War.”
This impactful event brought together homeless people, garment workers, and fishing families to raise their voices against capitalist exploitation and corporate injustice. The event commemorated the 11th anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh, which claimed the lives of over 1,100 garment workers.
As part of the 6th International Conference of the World March of Women, the event aimed to empower communities to resist corporate power, prioritize life and peace over profit and war, and challenge the systems that marginalize the working class and women.
