Our Movements

Why We Build Movements

At JK, we don’t just run projects — we build movements. We believe real change comes from the people themselves. Through leadership development, spiritual grounding, and participatory reflection, we help people act, reflect, analyze, and act again — continuously.

“We are not waiting for change — we are becoming the change.”

People’s Movement for a Better World (PMBW)

A community-led force for justice and dignity.

  • Gender equality & women’s leadership
  • Peacebuilding & reconciliation
  • Environmental justice
  • Social, economic, and spiritual transformation

“We believe that a better world is possible when people unite, support each other, and take collective action.”

Youth Movement for a Better World (YMBW)

Empowering the next generation of change-makers.

Negombo United People’s Organization (NUPO)

The voice of the homeless in Gampaha District.

Key demands:
National housing policy for the houseless
Inclusive housing for families in Negombo
Recognition of housing as a fundamental human right

“We are not invisible. Our families deserve a dignified life and a place to call home.”
