International Women’s Day 2025 – A Conversation on Justice and Responsibility


On International Women’s Day 2025, Janawaboda Kendraya facilitated a meaningful dialogue with homeless community members, focused on the role and responsibility of women in building a more just and inclusive society.
Held under the theme:
“Accelerating Social Cohesion and Economic Justice through Women’s Responsibility”
the conversation explored how women — particularly from vulnerable and marginalized communities — are essential agents of:
Social cohesion
Gender justice
Economic equality
Participants shared lived experiences, hopes, and strategies for advancing gender equity and collective dignity, especially in contexts of poverty, displacement, and structural inequality.
