International DInternational Delegates Visit Janawaboda Kendraya โ Fisheries Knowledge Exchange
On February 25, 2025, Janawaboda Kendraya was honored to host international delegates participating in a workshop organized by ICSF Sri Lanka.
Representatives from 10 different countries visited the center to engage in a rich experience-sharing session focused on:
Small-scale fisheries in the Negombo lagoon
Challenges and resilience of local fishing communities
Community-led practices in sustainable fisheries and coastal livelihood protection
Local fishers and community leaders joined the exchange, offering real-life stories, practices, and grassroots innovations to protect marine resources and livelihoods.
This gathering promoted global-local solidarity and strengthened the visibility of small-scale fisher voices in global dialogues.
