“Diversity is Our Strength” – Youth Road Show & Cultural Event for Peace and Unity
The final phase of a powerful 5-part workshop series on Social Cohesion, Peacebuilding, Gender and Reproductive Health Rights, and Climate Change Impacts on Women concluded with a vibrant youth-led road show at Colomboface Esplanade in Puttalam Town, coinciding with Sri Lanka’s 77th Independence Day celebrations.
This large-scale community event featured:
300+ youth and adults
25 trained youth representatives
15 government officials
Religious leaders and civil society participants
The road show was a creative culmination of workshops conducted across 5 administrative divisions of the Puttalam District, which trained 160 youth and 35 government officials on issues of peace, justice, equality, and inclusion.
The event used street theatre, music, and visual storytelling to spark critical reflection among citizens on their role in building a peaceful and cohesive society.

The launch of a symbolic hand band carrying the theme:

This was more than a slogan — it became a unifying call for civic responsibility and collective action for harmony, rights, and sustainable development.
