Community Workshop on Social Cohesion, Gender Rights & Climate Awareness – Mundalama
A one-day community awareness workshop was organized at the Mundalama Divisional Secretariat to address key social and development topics such as:
Social Cohesion & Peacebuilding
Gender Equality & Gender Justice
Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR)
Climate Change Impacts on Women and Communities
The workshop focused on building dialogue between citizens and government officers, especially around local challenges impacting rural families.
Interactive Tools Used
A “Problem Tree” activity was conducted to help participants identify root causes and effects of their community’s social and economic problems. This interactive method promoted participatory problem-solving and open discussion.
Key Outcomes of the Dialogue
Free vocational and life skills training was promised for economically vulnerable families.
Preschool training programs to be expanded and offered to rural communities.
Encouragement from government officers for youth in the district to apply for available vacancies in state institutions after completing higher education.
This workshop successfully built a bridge between community voices and policy actors, encouraging shared responsibility and inclusive development.
