A Tribute to Mothers – Honoring Strength and Warmth

Inspired by the words of Maxim Gorky – “The world exists thanks to the rays of the sun and the warmth of a mother” – the students of the National Institute of Social Development (NISD) organized a heartfelt tribute to mothers.
In collaboration with the Negombo People’s Unity Organization, this special occasion celebrated the enduring love, resilience, and leadership of mothers within marginalized and underrepresented communities.
The event served not only as a moment of appreciation but also as an opportunity to reflect on the vital role of women in community development and social transformation.
